How to Setup Mint IPTV on TiviMate

The most polished IPTV player on Android and Fire TV — set up properly, from playlist to TV guide.

How to Setup Mint IPTV on TiviMate

TiviMate is what most experienced IPTV users end up on. It has the cleanest channel grid, the best TV guide, and controls that actually feel designed for a remote rather than a touchscreen. It is worth the extra few minutes of setup.

One thing to know before you begin: TiviMate only runs on Android. That includes Firestick, Fire TV Cube, Android TV boxes, Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV, and Android phones and tablets. It does not exist for Samsung, LG, iPhone or Apple TV.

  • Firestick or Android TV device
  • Mint IPTV Subscription
  • Downloader app (Fire TV only)
Before you start: Have your Username, Password and Server URL from the welcome email ready. TiviMate works best when you add the playlist through Xtream Codes rather than a plain M3U link.

Step 1: Install TiviMate

How you install it depends on the device you are using.

  1. On an Android TV box or Nvidia Shield: open the Google Play Store, search for TiviMate IPTV Player, and press Install.
  2. On a Firestick or Fire TV: TiviMate is not in the Amazon store, so it has to be sideloaded. Install the Downloader app first, then enable Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options > Install unknown apps for Downloader.
  3. In Downloader, enter tivimate.com in the URL bar and download the APK from the official site.
  4. Press Install when the prompt appears, then Open.
  5. If you have not sideloaded on a Firestick before, our Firestick guide walks through enabling Developer Options with screenshots.

Step 2: Add your Mint IPTV playlist

TiviMate calls a subscription a "playlist". You will add one using Xtream Codes.

  1. Open TiviMate. On first launch it asks you to Add playlist.
  2. Choose Xtream Codes — not "M3U playlist". Xtream Codes gives you the TV guide, catch-up and the Movies/Series library in one step.
  3. Enter your Server URL exactly as written in your welcome email, including http:// and the port number.
  4. Enter your Username and Password.
  5. Press Next. TiviMate connects and shows how many channels it found.
  6. Give the playlist a name such as Mint IPTV and confirm.

Step 3: Let the channels and TV guide download

The first sync is the longest one you will ever do.

  1. TiviMate downloads the channel list, then the EPG (electronic programme guide) separately.
  2. Leave it alone for two or three minutes. The EPG is a large file and interrupting it produces a half-empty guide.
  3. When it finishes you land on the main channel grid with programme names and times filled in.

Step 4: Tidy up your channel groups

Twenty thousand channels is unusable until you hide the ones you will never watch.

  1. Press the menu button on your remote and open Settings > Playlists > Mint IPTV > Channels.
  2. Uncheck entire groups you do not need — foreign-language regions, adult categories, and duplicate quality tiers.
  3. Go back and open Settings > Playlists > Channel groups to reorder them so your favourites sit at the top.
  4. Add individual channels to Favourites by holding OK on the channel and choosing Add to favourites.
Worth doing: Trimming from 20,000 channels down to the 200 you actually watch makes TiviMate noticeably faster to open and much easier to navigate with a remote.

Step 5: TiviMate Premium (optional)

The free version plays everything. Premium adds convenience features.

  1. Premium unlocks multiple playlists, recording, catch-up TV, picture-in-picture, and scheduled recordings.
  2. Buy it from inside the app under Settings > Premium, or on the TiviMate website with a Google account.
  3. The licence is tied to your Google account and covers several devices — sign in with the same account on each one.
  4. Premium is paid to TiviMate's developer, not to Mint IPTV. It is entirely optional and your subscription works fully without it.

Troubleshooting

The TV guide is empty

Open Settings > EPG and press Update now, then wait. If it stays empty, remove the playlist and re-add it using Xtream Codes rather than an M3U link.

"Playlist processing failed"

The server URL or port is wrong, or the subscription has expired. Re-check the address against your welcome email and confirm your renewal date.

Channels load but nothing plays

Open Settings > Playback and switch the decoder between Hardware and Software. Some Fire TV models need the software decoder for certain streams.

TiviMate is missing from my Fire TV home screen

Sideloaded apps are hidden from the main row. Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications to open it, or install a free Sideload Launcher.

Premium features vanished

You are signed in with a different Google account than the one that bought the licence. Sign out and back in with the original account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does TiviMate work on Samsung, LG or Apple TV?

No. TiviMate is Android-only. On those platforms use IPTV Smarters, IBO Player or Smarters Player Lite instead.

Do I need TiviMate Premium?

No. The free version plays live TV perfectly with a full guide. Premium is only worth it if you want recording, catch-up or more than one playlist.

Is TiviMate Premium included with my Mint IPTV subscription?

No. TiviMate is made by an independent developer and its licence is bought separately from them.

Can I use TiviMate and another app at the same time?

Both apps can be installed together, but streaming simultaneously counts as two connections. You would need a multi-connection plan.
