Android is the easiest platform for IPTV. Because Android allows you to install apps from outside the Play Store, you can put the Mint IPTV player directly onto the device and log in with a username and password — no device IDs, no activation websites, no extra fees.
The same steps work whether you are holding an Android phone or pointing a remote at an Nvidia Shield. The only real difference is where the Unknown Sources switch lives, and we cover both below.
- Android TV, Box, Phone or Tablet
- Mint IPTV Subscription
- Chrome or a file browser
Step 1: Allow installation from unknown sources
Android blocks apps from outside the Play Store until you give permission. This is a normal, built-in setting — it is not a hack and it does not affect your warranty.
- On Android TV / Google TV: open Settings > System > Security & Restrictions > Unknown Sources, then switch ON the app you will download with (Chrome, or Downloader).
- On a phone or tablet: open Settings > Apps > Special access > Install unknown apps, choose your browser, and enable Allow from this source.
- On Nvidia Shield: the option is under Settings > Device Preferences > Security & restrictions.
- If your Android version asks for permission later, during the install instead, that is fine — just tap Settings in the popup and enable it there.
Step 2: Download the Mint IPTV app
Open your browser and type the short download link exactly as written.
- Open Chrome (or the Downloader app if you are on a TV box without a browser).
-
Enter the direct download address:mintiptv.io/apk
- If your device has no browser at all, install Downloader from the Play Store and enter the same address in its URL bar.
- Confirm the download when the browser asks. The file is around 30MB and takes a few seconds.
Step 3: Install the app
The downloaded file has to be opened once to install it.
- Tap the download notification, or open Downloads in your file manager and tap the .apk file.
- Press Install and wait for the confirmation.
- If a Play Protect warning appears, choose Install anyway. It appears for every app not distributed through the Play Store.
- Press Open to launch it, or find it later in your app drawer.
- Once installed you can delete the .apk file — it is only the installer.
Step 4: Log in with your Mint IPTV details
This is the part that connects the app to your subscription.
- Open the app. If it asks what kind of device you are on, choose TV for a box or Mobile for a phone.
- Accept the terms of service.
- Choose Login with Xtream Codes API. Do not choose "Load your playlist or file" — the API login gives you a proper TV guide and a Movies/Series library.
-
Fill in the fields exactly as they appear in your welcome email:
- Any Name: Mint TV
- Username: from your welcome email
- Password: from your welcome email
- Server URL: from your welcome email (starts with http://)
- Press Add User. The app now downloads your channels, movies and series.
Step 5: Load the channel list
The first sync pulls thousands of entries, so give it a moment.
- Select Live TV, Movies and Series when prompted so all three libraries download.
- Wait for the progress bar to complete — usually 30–90 seconds on a normal connection.
- You are done. Open Live TV and pick a channel to confirm everything is working.
Troubleshooting
"There was a problem parsing the package"
The download was cut short or the file is corrupt. Delete the .apk, check you have free storage, and download it again on a stable connection.
"App not installed"
Usually an older copy is still present. Uninstall any previous version of the app, restart the device, then install again.
The app is missing from my Android TV home screen
Android TV hides sideloaded apps from the main row. Open Settings > Apps > See all apps to launch it, or install a free "Sideload Launcher" to pin it to the home screen.
Login says invalid credentials
Check for capital letters and stray spaces — copying from email often adds a space at the end. The Server URL must include http:// and the port number if your email shows one.
Video plays but stutters
In the app settings, switch the player to a hardware decoder (HW or Exo Player). If it still stutters, test the connection with an Ethernet cable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is sideloading safe?
Yes. Installing an app from outside the Play Store is a standard Android feature and does not root your device or void your warranty. Our APK is scanned before every release.
Can I use the same account on my phone and my TV box?
Yes, but not streaming at the same moment unless your plan has more than one connection. You can install the app on as many devices as you like.
Do I need a VPN?
Mint IPTV works without one. A VPN only helps if your internet provider slows down streaming traffic during peak hours.
Will the app update itself?
Sideloaded apps do not auto-update. When we release a new version, simply download the APK again and install it over the old one — your login is kept.
