How to Setup Mint IPTV on Apple TV, iPhone & iPad

Everything comes straight from the App Store — no sideloading, no jailbreak, no developer account.

How to Setup Mint IPTV on Apple TV, iPhone & iPad

Apple devices are the quickest setup of all. Apple does not allow sideloading, but that turns out to be an advantage here: the players you need are already on the App Store, fully signed and updated automatically. You install one, log in, and you are watching.

The instructions below are identical on Apple TV (tvOS), iPhone and iPad. On Apple TV you use the Siri remote instead of touch, which is the only practical difference.

  • Apple TV, iPhone or iPad
  • Mint IPTV Subscription
  • Apple ID
Before you start: Typing a long server URL with the Apple TV remote is slow. Open the Apple TV Remote in your iPhone's Control Centre and use the phone keyboard instead — it saves several minutes.

Step 1: Install a player from the App Store

Two players are proven with Mint IPTV. Install one of them.

  1. Open the App Store on your Apple TV, iPhone or iPad.
  2. Search for Smarters Player Lite — this is the Apple version of IPTV Smarters and our first recommendation. Open in App Store
  3. Or search for GSE Smart IPTV, which has more advanced options and a good built-in EPG. Open in App Store
  4. Press Get and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your Apple ID password.
  5. Wait for the install to complete, then open the app.

Step 2: Accept the terms and choose the login type

The first launch asks a couple of setup questions.

  1. Read and accept the app's terms of service.
  2. On the login screen, select Login with Xtream Codes API.
  3. Do not select "Load your playlist or file / URL". The M3U method works, but it gives you no TV guide and no Movies or Series sections.

Step 3: Enter your Mint IPTV details

All four values come from the welcome email you received after ordering.

  1. Any Name / Playlist Name: type Mint TV — this is just a label for you.
  2. Username: copy it exactly from your welcome email.
  3. Password: copy it exactly, watching for capital letters.
  4. Server URL: the address beginning with http://. Include the port number if your email shows one.
  5. Press Add User or Login.
Tip for Apple TV: When the on-screen keyboard appears, a notification pops up on any nearby iPhone signed in to the same Apple ID. Tap it and type on your phone instead.

Step 4: Load your channels

The app now pulls your full library from the server.

  1. Choose Live TV, Movies and Series so all three sections download.
  2. Let the first sync finish — normally under a minute.
  3. Open Live TV and start a channel to confirm the stream plays.
  4. Setup is complete. Your login is saved and the app will open straight into your channels next time.

Watching on iPhone and casting to a TV

If you set up on iPhone or iPad, you can send the picture to a television.

  1. Start playing a channel in the app.
  2. Open Control Centre and tap Screen Mirroring, then pick your Apple TV.
  3. For the best quality, install the player on the Apple TV itself rather than mirroring — mirroring re-encodes the video and softens the picture.

Troubleshooting

The app asks me to pay

Some iOS IPTV players charge a small one-off App Store fee. Smarters Player Lite is free. Any fee you do pay goes to Apple and the app developer, never to Mint IPTV.

"Invalid credentials" on Apple TV

The Apple TV keyboard often adds an automatic capital at the start of a field. Turn off auto-capitalisation, or type the details from your iPhone keyboard instead.

No TV guide (EPG) is showing

You almost certainly logged in with an M3U playlist URL instead of Xtream Codes. Delete the profile and add it again using Login with Xtream Codes API.

Video stalls on Wi-Fi

Move the Apple TV closer to the router, or use an Ethernet cable on models that have a port. 4K streams need roughly 25 Mbps of steady bandwidth.

The app disappeared after an update

Some IPTV players get removed from the App Store temporarily. If yours is gone, install the other recommended player — your Mint IPTV login works in both.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to jailbreak my Apple TV?

No. Everything here uses apps published on the official App Store. Jailbreaking is never required and we do not recommend it.

Which app is better, Smarters Player Lite or GSE?

Smarters Player Lite is simpler and looks closer to the Firestick version. GSE Smart IPTV gives you more control over EPG and buffering settings if you like to tinker.

Will it work on an older Apple TV 3rd generation?

No. The 3rd generation has no App Store. You need Apple TV 4th generation (2015) or newer, or an Apple TV 4K.

Can I download movies to watch offline?

No. Mint IPTV is a live streaming service, so an internet connection is required at all times.
